Ataxia is a Detroit-based production team of Ted Krisko and Eric Ricker. They are DJ and promotional mainstays in the Motor City and are making their full production debut with ‘The No.6’ EP.

From the start of their creative collaboration Ataxia have been influenced by the deep and warm side of Culprit’s aesthetic. The label was a natural choice for their first fully realized EP.

Ataxia’s immediately accomplished work appealed to two of this genre’s premier vocalists: Clarian (recently of Footprintz) and the everbusy LA-based Cari Golden.

There is perfect Culprit symmetry in the selection of the contributors – it’s Clarian’s second label appearance this month, having just remixed the new Climbers’ single. Cari Golden has been a friend and supporter of the Culprit crew from its very beginning, finally making her first appearance.

The shimmering melodic title track gets two supreme – and vastly different – treatments. After an incredible whirlwind of a year developing Infinity Ink and Hot Natured projects, Luca Cazal reunites with Brigante on a very special remix of ‘The No.6.’ The pair take an entirely analogue and adventurous ride, inspired by classic acid house and deep German techno, but with a personality all its own.

San Francisco artists Safeword deliver a warehouseready darkly propulsive take on the original that is dancefloorready.

Ataxia’s Detroit compatriot Dan Wagner shows great promise with a stellar rework of the the ethereal ‘Love On.’
